The work includes the removal, disposal, inspection, and replacement of filter media within existing gravity/pressure filter units at the Southwest Water Treatment Plant, located at 255 Wall Triana Highway, Madison, AL. The objective is to restore filter performance, improve water quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (AWWA B10016 Granular Filter Material Standard). The contractor is required to provide all supervision, labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to perform the project safely, professionally, and within the specified schedule. Instructions to bidders: Sealed bids must be submitted with the contractor's name and Alabama License number printed on the outside. Bidder instructions, including details about the pre-bid meeting and contractor questionnaire, are provided. Bidder Qualification Forms regarding the ability to perform the work must be included at bid opening. Only bids from qualified Contractors licensed in Alabama prior to the bid opening will be considered. Each bid requires a cashier's check or bid bond for at least 5% of the bid amount (maximum $10,000). Performance, payment, and maintenance bonds, as well as proof of insurance, are required before contract execution. An "Unauthorized Aliens Affidavit" form must be included in the bid package.
