Sealed proposals are requested for the "Aurora History Library @ The Depot - Library Caboose Relocation" project in Aurora, Indiana, for the Aurora Public Library District. The work includes exterior construction at the Aurora Public History Library @ The Depot to permanently install a railroad caboose relocated to the site for school children's activities. Tasks will involve constructing a new patio and seat walls, an elevated concrete platform with stairs and an ADA-accessible concrete ramp to the caboose, fall protection railings and handrails, brick paver and concrete sidewalks, AC paving, and installation of several bronze statues as shown in the project plans. The contractor will build a gravel base with a section of railroad track and ties for the caboose and perform both interior and exterior renovations, including new HVAC and wood seating benches for the caboose. The contractor must also include an allowance for relocating the caboose two blocks from its current location. Bid forms are available at Hrezo Engineering. Plans and specifications may be examined at Hrezo Engineering, Inc. or the Aurora Public Library District. Copies may be purchased from Hrezo Engineering, Inc. for a non-refundable fee. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the bid and, if awarded, the contractor must furnish a surety bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
