Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.

The project involves the replacement of the existing bridge superstructure with a new single-span precast adjacent box beam superstructure. Roadway approach work, including paving, guide rail, and signing improvements, are included in this project. Items of work for the contract are identified more specifically in the Bid Form, Contract Specifications, and Contract Documents. The entire project will be awarded to one contractor. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft, payable to the County of Schuylkill, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder naming the County of Schuylkill as obligee and acceptable surety, in the amount of 10 percent of the Total Bid. The successful bidder must furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each for one hundred percent of the Contract Price, with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty. Money orders and personal money orders are not an acceptable form of bid security. Contractors and subcontractors must be PennDOT-prequalified for the work they perform. The contract requires compliance with prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, non-discrimination in hiring practices, and goals for minority and female participation. The contractor is required to make a diligent effort to achieve these ratios. Provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and the Public Works Employment Verification Act apply.
