Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Valley City, North Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.

Sealed bids will be received for furnishing materials, labor, equipment, and skill for the construction of Prefabricated Bridge Construction, Grading, Aggregate Surface Course, and incidental items. Work includes, but is not limited to: removal of trees (2 at 18IN, 1 at 30IN), removal of concrete pavement (144 SY), common excavation (370 CY), topsoil (245 CY), water (29 M GAL), seeding, mulching, silt and sediment control, aggregate surface (142 TON), mobilization, traffic control, barricades, and various alternatives for bridge construction (concrete deck or treated timber deck) that entail foundation work, excavation, concrete, steel, railing, geosynthetics, safety fence, underdrain system, prefabricated pedestrian bridge, and helical anchors. All bids must be submitted on the basis of cash payment for work and materials, accompanied by a separate envelope containing the contractor's license and bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the bid in the form of a bidder's bond. The bond must be executed by the bidder as principal and a surety company authorized in the state, conditioned on executing and effecting the contract within ten days if awarded. All bidders must be licensed for the full bid amount as required by North Dakota law. The successful bidder must furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds in the full contract amount. Bids will be awarded based on the low bid submitted by a responsible and responsive bidder for the aggregate sum of all bid items under a single contract. Each bid must be sealed and marked with 1) the work covered, 2) the name of the bidder, 3) a separate envelope with bid bond and license, and 4) acknowledgement of addenda. Incomplete bids will not be read or considered and will be returned to the bidder. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, and hold bids for up to 30 days. Liquidated damages of $1,600 per day will be assessed for delay in completion. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents.
