Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Valley City, North Dakota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
Estimated cost is $1,500,000 to $1,800,000. The scope of work includes contract bond, removal of trees (18IN and 30IN), removal of concrete pavement, common excavation (Type B), topsoil, water, seeding, temporary cover crop, straw mulch, hydraulic mulch, silt fence installation and removal, fiber rolls installation and removal, flotation silt curtain installation and removal, aggregate surface course CL 13, mobilization, traffic control signs, and Type III barricades. Alternative 1 (Concrete Deck) includes removal of structure, various classes of excavation, channel excavation, foundation preparation, placement of riprap Grade II, Class AAE-3 and AE-3 concrete work, penetrating water repellent treatment, installation of reinforcing steel (Grade 60, both regular and epoxy coated), structure steel M270 Grade 36, railing, geosynthetic material Type RR, temporary safety fence, abutment underdrain system, installation of a prefabricated pedestrian bridge, and helical anchor installation. Alternative 2 (Treated Timber Deck) includes similar work as Alternative 1 but with a treated timber deck and a reduced quantity of penetrating water repellent treatment.
