Alternative 1 (Concrete Deck) includes removal of structure, various classes of excavation, channel excavation, foundation preparation, placement of riprap Grade II, Class AAE-3 and AE-3 concrete work, penetrating water repellent treatment, installation of reinforcing steel (Grade 60, both regular and epoxy coated), structure steel M270 Grade 36, railing, geosynthetic material Type RR, temporary safety fence, abutment underdrain system, installation of a prefabricated pedestrian bridge, and helical anchor installation. Alternative 2 (Treated Timber Deck) includes similar work as Alternative 1 but with a treated timber deck and a reduced quantity of penetrating water repellent treatment.
