Remodeling of a municipal facility in Hawthorne, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade municipal facility.
Interior painting and replacement of cove base at the Hawthorne DMV field office. Estimated total contract cost is $40,000.00. Bidders are advised to check the Cal eProcure website for addendums, modifications, and updates to the bid documents. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is not responsible for failure of the prospective bidder to check for any bid document updates, changes, or answers to questions posted on Cal eProcure. Failure to periodically check the website will be at the bidders sole risk. Interior painting and replacement of cove base at the Hawthorne DMV field office. Term: Forty-five (45) calendar days within a term of twelve (12) months (see Schedule of Events for proposed start date of contract). See Exhibit A, Scope of Work, for a complete description of services Contractor's Full Business Name (to be completed by the DMV), hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, agrees to provide the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to perform interior painting and replacement of cove base at the Hawthorne DMV field office for the term of this Agreement. The Contractor is responsible for field verifying all dimensions and existing site conditions pertinent to this Agreement. 2. The services shall be performed at: 3700 W El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250. 1). The Contractor shall paint the entire interior, replace cove base throughout the building, and repair all damaged drywall, replace all kick plates, replace all damaged ceiling tiles, caulk all gaps and interior wood wall paneling to be refreshed as identified in this Exhibit and complete the Agreement in conformity with these specifications. a. Work Includes painting and finishing of all interior items and surfaces. b. Work Includes replacement of cove base throughout the building. c. Work includes replacing missing or damaged ceiling tiles. The Contractor shall replace all damaged or stained twelve-inch by twelve- (12" x 12") acoustic ceiling tiles, and all damaged or stained two by four ft (2' x 4') ceiling tiles. Tiles to match existing, the DMV Project Manager shall approve of manufacturer and profile. d. Work includes replacing all kickplates on interior doors, plates to match existing size and color. e. Work includes patching all damaged drywall, filling all holes, and texturing patches, as well as caulking all gaps or cracks on interior trim and drywall. f. The Contractor shall remove all signage, bulletin boards, and pictures before painting and remount them after painting (interior). The Contractor shall move all shelving away from walls and return shelving to original location after painting. SPECIFICATIONS FOR INTERIOR PAINTING (1). SUMMARY OF WORK - INTERIOR PAINTING a. The DMV Project Manager shall have final approval of all products and colors. b. The Contractor shall patch, prep, and paint all previously painted wall surfaces with an interior grade semi-gloss latex paint. Hard rocked ceilings shall be painted. The Contractor shall replace any damaged or stained ceiling tiles. The restrooms shall be painted with an interior semi-gloss latex paint. The Contractor shall prep and paint all restroom stalls. Janitor rooms shall be painted. c. Wood surfaces previously finished with a solvent-based product may be recoated with a solvent-based product approved by the DMV Project Manager. Schedule for application of solvent based products shall be pre-approved by the DMV Project Manager. d. The Contractor shall replace all four-inch (4") rubber cove base with new four-inch (4") rubber cove base. See specifications for rubber cove base. e. The Contractor shall re-stain or paint all wooden doors. f. The Contractor shall replace scratched or graffiti damaged mirrors in restrooms. g. The Contractor shall replace any damaged or missing ceramic tiles in restrooms. h. The Contractor shall replace all existing kickplates and doorstops on all doors. i. Existing window trim, door frames, handrails, etc. have several coats of existing paint. These areas shall be sanded smooth or scraped before painting. j. The Contractor shall use ELLIS PRIMER 1262 (or pre-approved equal) on all metal surfaces except galvanized aluminum. k. Where wallpaper is present, the Contractor shall remove wallpaper and sand off excess glue to create a surface to accept a skim coat. The Contractor shall apply skim coat and apply primer on top of the skim coat using a one inch (1") nap roller to create texture, and then apply two (2) final coats of paint. l. The Contractor shall supply air scrubbers that shall be running while painting the interior.
