LPSS Replace Carpet and Wallcovering Project at Ernest Gallet Elementary (EGES), J. Wallace James Elementary (JWES), Live Oak Elementary (LOES), and Ossun Elementary (OES) It is further understood and agreed that the Work under this Contract shall be completed as follows: Project shall be substantially complete by Friday, July 31, 2026. Access to EGES, JWES, LOES, and OES shall be granted from May 25, 2026, through Substantial Completion on July 31, 2026. In addition, access to rooms and corridors (without carpet) to be painted at LOES and OES shall be granted according to the LPSS Holiday Calendar as follows: Thanksgiving November 22, 2025 through November 30, 2025. Christmas December 20, 2025 through January 04, 2026. Mardi Gras February 14, 2026 through February 22, 2026. Easter/Spring Break April 03, 2026 through April 12, 2026. The Contractor shall be subject to reimbursement to the Owner of liquidated damages in the amount of fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00) per consecutive calendar day per field, if any field fails to be substantially complete by the dates specified. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above stated time and date in the Purchasing Department Conference Room of the Lafayette Parish School System Central Office Building. Delivery to any other department other than the Purchasing Department is unacceptable and may result in non-consideration of the Bid. University Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70507 OES, 400 Rue Scholastique, Lafayette, LA 70507 Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or Bid Bond using the Owners form payable to the Lafayette Parish School System, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposed Base Bid plus all Alternates. Money Orders will not be accepted. A Bid Bond will be required, per the Contract Documents, and should be uploaded with the rest of the required Bid Documents. If a scanned copy of the Bid Bond is uploaded, the original notarized Bid Bond must be produced on-demand per the Owners request. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract on the forms provided by the School Board and written in accordance with Louisiana law. Bids shall be accepted only from Contractors who are licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for the classification of Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of Bids, except under the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2214. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids for just cause. The Lafayette Parish School System strongly encourages the participation of minority business enterprises in all contracts or procurements let by the Board for goods and services. To that end, all Contractors and suppliers are encouraged to utilize minority business enterprises in the purchase or sub-contracting of materials, supplies, and services in which minority owned businesses are available. Question Deadline 12/02/2025 Bidders and Sub-Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall make a written request which shall reach the Architect at least seven (7) days prior to the date for receipt of Bids. The person submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt delivery.
