The work includes, but is not limited to: site grading, subgrade preparation, construction of reinforced concrete foundations, furnishing and installing GAC vessels and appurtenances, well discharge piping, influent piping, effluent piping, backwash piping, well flush line, appurtenances, drainage piping, blow-down piping, chlorine tank enclosure, nitrate analyzer, nitrate building, electrical and controls, emergency backup diesel generator, appurtenances, and site development, as well as other items or details required by typical construction, Standard Specifications, or special provisions. Bids are required for the entire work described. Proposal forms must be used as provided. Each bid must include a bidder's security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. Successful bidders must furnish a faithful performance bond and a payment bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bidders must be properly licensed at contract award. All documents must be scannable and photocopiable. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and the project is subject to prevailing wage requirements and compliance monitoring. Inquiries regarding ambiguities in plans or specifications must be submitted prior to bid opening. Technical questions must be submitted in writing. Plans, specifications, and bid documents can be obtained for a fee. If there is a difference between federal and state wage rates, the higher rate applies.
