The Base Bid includes replacement of three (3) circulation pumps, installation of one new three-way valve, and upgrading the existing pneumatic Three way valve to Siemens DDC controls, including all associated temperature controls and components required for monitoring, temperature, pressure, operating, and alarms set points for each item. Work also includes all miscellaneous parts, fittings, wiring, and accessories required for a complete and operational boiler system improvement. One Additive Alternate is included: 1. Replace the existing day tank with a new unit matching the specifications of the existing system. 1.01 General A. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, shipping, and incidentals required to furnish and install all new components necessary to complete the boiler control system upgrade. The contractor is responsible for verifying existing conditions, making all necessary connections, complying with applicable codes, and obtaining all required permits and inspections from the authorities having jurisdiction over commercial plumbing and mechanical work in the State of Alaska. D. The contractor shall also be responsible for the proper and safe removal and disposal of all existing pumps, valves, controls, waste, debris, and excess materials. MSBSD shall be offered the first right of refusal for any usable parts removed prior to disposal. E. The contractor shall coordinate all required utility shutdowns with MSBSD. F. The contractor shall provide a detailed project schedule and schedule of values prior to the PreConstruction Meeting. I. Payment applications shall be based on the approved schedule of values and submitted no more than once per month. J. Commissioning of the upgraded DDC controls, new circulation pumps, and hydronic system balancing for optimal operation shall be completed and documented prior to contract expiration. A commissioning report shall be submitted to the Borough Project Manager and MSBSD Facilities Maintenance. DDC system shall replace the existing pneumatic controls and fully integrate with Siemens control monitoring network for any item replaced that is currently controlled by pneumatics. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any and all technicalities or informalities it deems appropriate.
