Demolition and new construction of a municipal facility in Dover, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the construction of a 10,000-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility.

**As of January 29, 2026, project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The selected Contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the Contract Documents (blueprints and specifications). The existing structure is presumed to contain Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs) and is constructed primarily of wood and concrete. The winning Contractor is solely responsible for identifying, handling, removing, transporting, and disposing of all hazardous materials, including ACMs, encountered during this phase of work. Key work elements include, but are not limited to Site Work: Comprehensive pre-demolition asbestos survey and hazardous materials assessment. Demolition and removal of existing structure. Clearing, grading, excavation, utility connections (water, sewer, electric, gas), storm water management, and final landscaping. Foundation: Construction of foundation as specified. Superstructure: Erection of the building frame, exterior walls, and roof system. Building Envelope: Installation of roofing, siding, windows, and doors to ensure a weather-tight and energy-efficient envelope. Interior Construction: Framing, drywall, insulation, painting, and installation of all interior finishes (flooring, ceilings, millwork). Mechanical Systems: Complete installation of HVAC system designed for both comfort and air quality Plumbing Systems: Installation of all domestic water, sanitary, and gas piping. Electrical Systems: Installation of power, lighting, fire alarm, security, and data/communications systems. Life safety Equipment: Fire alarm system with sprinklers, emergency lighting and generator backup. All subject to local AHJ requirements. Final Inspections & Closeout: Coordinating all required inspections, obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy, and providing all warranties, as-built drawings, and operation manuals. The Contractor is expected to maintain a safe worksite, comply with all applicable OSHA standards, and secure all necessary permits. Strafford County is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced General Contractors for the construction of a new Warming Center building and demolition of the existing structure at 262 County Farm Road, Dover, NH. The purpose of this facility is to provide a safe, dignified, and accessible space for residents during extreme cold weather events.
