Renovation of a laboratory facility in Purchase, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade laboratory facility.

Purchase College is soliciting proposals to provide architectural and MEP design services to make modifications to some existing biology lab suite in the Natural Sciences Building to act as temporary surge space for another project renovation of the entire lower level of the building. There will be a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting at 10:00 a.m. on November 17, 2025, in the Capital Facilities Building conference room at Purchase College, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase, New York 10577-1402. If you would like a copy of the Request for Proposal and Contract Documents, you must email Elizabeth Pleva, Director of Procurement and Accounts Payable. In compliance with the Procurement Lobbying Act, permissible contact by an Offeror in relation to any specific procurements in excess of $15,000 should be made only with authorized personnel of SUNY Purchase who are designated as the contact person(s). The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The existing suite is roughly 1,400 square feet of space and include four spaces (existing lab, existing prep lab, storage, and research lab). We have attached some rough sketches to give you an idea of the amount of space. All the construction must be completed by August 02, 2027. The College will allow for a question period beginning on November 6, 2025, and closing on November 20, 2025. All questions must be submitted in writing, citing the particular RFQ page, section and paragraph numbers where applicable. All questions must be submitted in writing and emailed to Sean Connolly, Associate Director (sean.connolly@purchase.edu). Answers will be issued as an addendum to this RFQ and posted on the Purchase College Procurement Opportunities webpage on November 25, 2025. A. Scope of Services shall include, but not be limited to the following: - Review of existing documents, plans, and specifications that the college will provide. - Visual site inspections and observations. - Documentation of existing conditions and issues. - Meetings with college representatives to review scope and needs. - Development of bid documents, based on selected layout for College to use to solicit construction contracts. - Develop preliminary project budget. - Attend contractor - pre-bid meeting/walk-thru to review scope of work and answer questions. - Issue Addendum (as needed) based on bidder questions and RFI's. - Review submitted bids for understanding of scope and making recommendations of who to award to College. - Provide full construction administration services including but not limited to (review of submittals, RFI's, attendance at bi-weekly meetings, generation of meeting minutes, field review of construction progress, field reports (as needed), review of contractor applications for payment, change orders, etc.)
