Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Soquel, California. Working plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

** As of December 19,2025, project is on hold. No definite date for the rebid.** This project proposes the new construction of a performing arts center to include a main house performance space, control booth, staff offices, a choral room, drama and movement classroom spaces, scene workshop, support spaces, and associated site improvements, including a revised turnaround space and a revised fire access lane. The project is not located in a flood zone. The proposed building will replace an existing parking area. See specifications and civil drawings for the demolition scope of existing structures and underground utilities on the Soquel High School site. The site will remain in use by students and staff throughout the construction period, and accommodation will be necessary. As detailed in the Contract Documents, the successful proposing entity will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. This Contract is subject to prequalification. The Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California, in the manner provided by law, has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rate for legal holidays and overtime work. The Contractor must pay for any labor therein described or classified in an amount not less than the rates specified. Copies of the required rates can be located on the DIR website. The successful contractor will have to comply with skilled and trained workforce requirements pursuant to Public Contract Code sections 2600 et seq. and Education Code section 17407.5 and work within the District Procore project software. The Owner will not consider or accept any proposals from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. In accordance with Section 3300 of said Code, the proposing entity shall have a Class "B" license at the time of award and shall maintain that license in good standing through Contract Completion and all applicable warranty periods. The Owner reserves the right to add or deduct any of the additive or deductive items after the highest-ranked best-value proposal from the responsible and responsive contractors is determined. The lowest proposed fee shall be determined from the proposed base fee.
