This contract provides for cleanup and physical removal of any sewage backup from the City's sewer systems onto private property within the City of Vancouver City Limits. The contractor is responsible for ensuring any backup waste removed is taken to an authorized dump station. All sewage must be removed from affected areas, blow dried, sanitized, and made usable for living again; repair work by a contractor may be required if necessary. The contractor must respond within two hours of a City request. Use of the Decant Box at the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant is allowed upon pre-arranged coordination with the City. Other work may be included, all in accordance with the attached contract plans, provisions, and standard specifications. The City of Vancouver intends to award one contract for an initial period of three years with an option to extend for one additional year. Disadvantaged business enterprises are ensured a full and fair opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against. The City is committed to providing equal opportunities to State of Washington certified Minority, Disadvantaged, and Women’s Business Enterprises in contracting activities.
