Sealed bids will be received for the supply of commodities, supplies, materials, equipment, or any part thereof as needed by Districts 1 through 5, the Benton County Sheriff's Department, and the Benton County Sanitation Department. The specific items for bid include crushed limestone in various sizes and types (#1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 56, 57, 67, 89, CR, rip rap, surge), priced per ton, either FOB pit or FOB any point in Benton County. Bids are taken pursuant to Section 31-7-13 et seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. No contract will be awarded for specific quantities; purchases will only be made as ordered by the purchase clerk. The contract duration is from January 2, 2026, to January 4, 2027, with the right reserved to extend the contract for an additional year or up to sixty months if agreeable between the vendor and the county. Bids must be sealed, clearly labeled with the opening date, and may be submitted in person or by mail. All bids will be considered on a district-by-district basis, with travel time and fuel cost as determining factors in the evaluation of the lowest and best bid. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any formalities, and to accept in whole or in part such bid or bids as deemed in the best interest of the county.
