Prime construction includes but is not limited to construction of a new free-standing 79'x89' wood framed pole building with pre-engineered roof trusses, metal siding and roofing, and having a concrete floor throughout, a complete electrical power and lighting system, and a limited potable water distribution system to water livestock. Prime contractors for the construction of the project will consist of the following: general construction, electrical construction, and plumbing construction. Bidders must submit sealed bids containing three copy sets before the specified deadline. Drawings and project manuals are available only from the office of the engineer, Brooks Engineering Services, LLC, after return of a signed electronic document release form. Bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check of no less than 10 percent of the bid price is required. A performance and payment bond, each for one hundred percent of the contract charge, will be required. The successful bidder must also furnish a maintenance bond covering defects of material and workmanship for the calendar year following approval and acceptance of the construction, for ten percent of the contract amount. Bonds must be from a bonding company with an A- or better rating. The owner reserves the right to postpone, accept, or reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Any bidder taking exception to bid items must justify said exception via written narrative filed with the engineer for review.
