Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Abington, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade, 40-unit multi-residential development.
The Town of Abington is seeking proposals from qualified developers for the development of housing on Town-owned land located at 65 Thaxter Avenue and 171 Adams Street in Abington, Massachusetts. Each parcel contains a nearly identical, two-story masonry elementary school building constructed circa 1938. One parcel is approximately 4 acres; the other parcel is over 2 acres. The Town has secured zoning approval for up to 20 one-bedroom residential living units per parcel. The Town plans to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with the selected developer(s) to convey the properties. The procurement and contract award is subject to the Uniform Procurement Act, M.G.L. c. 30B. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to negotiate any and all non-mandatory contract terms with the successful proposer, or to cancel the procurement at any time if deemed in the Town’s best interest.
