The general scope of work includes the rehabilitation and/or replacement of 6 and 8 sewer mains using approximately 13,311 LF by pipe bursting and approximately 994 LF by open cut. The work also includes the rehabilitation or replacement of approximately 368 lower laterals, 358 upper laterals, and approximately 60 sewer structures. Bid Alternate A includes the resurfacing of approximately 2.8 miles of roadway and minor concrete work for curb and gutter, sidewalks, and concrete valley gutters. Bid Alternate B includes installation of approximately 260-ft of 6-inch PVC watermain and abandonment and disposal of existing asbestos cement pipeline, relocation of one residential water service, restoration of rolled curb/gutter and private landscaping, as well as responsibilities for pipeline disinfection, flushing, pressure testing, trench paving, and temporary striping. Instructions to bidders include requirements for attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference, a mandatory site visit, submission of sealed bids, required bonds and licenses, and compliance with California labor, wage, and public works codes. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond not less than ten percent of the bid. The successful bidder will have 250 calendar days to substantially complete the project from Notice to Proceed. All bids must be presented in accordance with contract documents and are subject to public opening and Board review.
