Renovation of an educational facility in Desert Hot Springs, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

The project involves the replacement of the DHSHS Boiler Plant. Sealed bids are invited for the construction of this project under CUPCCAA Bid No. 25-26-03 at the Palm Springs Unified School District. Each request for clarification shall be submitted in writing, via email, to only the following persons: To: Purchasing; cc: Amir Birjandi, Eli Villarreal Email: purchasinginfo@psusd.us cc: amir@cpmcorp.us, evillarreal@psusd.us Question Deadline 11/19/2025 at 4:00 PM PT General Notes: Contractor to provide Manufacturer start-up certification to confirm all equipment re properly commissioned. Installing contractor must have substantial experience with commercial Raypack hot water boiler system and equipment installation with verifiable project list and contact information. Equipment to be installed per OEM Specifications. Contractor is responsible for verification of any additional electrical capacity requirements. Controls integration of BMS by District/Owner. Contractor is responsible for construction temporary fencing if required. Contractor is required for upgrades of any existing non-code compliant systems. Contractor is responsible for any demurrage and/or storage charges. Contractor is responsible to obtain all required City and local agencies’ permits and approvals including but not limited to crane operations, lane closures and Traffic Control Plans as applicable and required. All associated costs for permits & approvals should be included in the Contractor’s base bid amount. Contractor is responsible to ascertain the existing site & equipment conditions and include in the base bid the cost of any provisions and/or temporary implementation and modifications needed for proper installation of the HVAC units as well as access to the working area. Weekly certified payrolls are required to be submitted upon District’s request. Contractors must be registered with DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) prior to the bid submission. The Anticipated start date of system installation is December 22, 2025 during nonschool Holiday period (depending on delivery of units). Turnkey Installation of HVAC Equipment One (1) new Raypak 399 MBH input heating hot water (HHW) boiler replacement. BACnet BMS card to be included One (1) new 50 GPM heating hot water pump (HHWP). One (1) new chemical pot feeder (CPF). One (1) new air separator (AS). One (1) new bladder expansion tank (ET) One (1) new buffer tank. (BT) Mechanical and Electrical Installation Receive, store, transport, and install Trane equipment (per existing equipment, like for like replacement). (1) 399 MBH Raypak HHW Boiler. (1) 50 GPM Grundfos HHW Pump. Ancillary tanks Furnish all labor, material and equipment as required to isolate, drain, disconnect, demo, and properly dispose of (1) existing HHW Boiler. Associated appurtenances to be disconnected and removed. o Existing (1) chemical pot feeder, (1) expansion tank. o Existing (1) heating hot water recirculating pump. Provide crane and rigging for removal of existing units. Spider crane to be set up in school courtyard on a Saturday or none-school day when no students are present. Building must be empty during crane lift. Furnish and install (1) new HHW boiler. Reconnect gas piping to new units. Extend piping as needed to make connections. Install new mechanical piping as required for new boilers. Furnish and install (1) new HHWP. Furnish and install new ancillary equipment. o (1) buffer tank o (1) air separator o (1) expansion tank o (1) chemical pot feede o Note: System to be modified for primary-secondary operation with the use of buffer tank. o Note: The new boiler is to be pre-certified with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for rule 1146.2. Registration with the District may not be required. Furnish and install new outdoor rain top on the boiler exhaust port. Install boiler on existing roof curb. Install buffer tank on boiler.
