Project Overview Upgrade the chiller plant at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System - University Drive campus. Increase cooling capacity to meet current and future HVAC demands. Modernize control systems for improved efficiency and integration. Key Components Chiller Replacement/Addition RFIs: All RFIs must be submitted, in writing, to amy.demarest@va.gov, elijah.mcintosh@va.gov, and Jeffrey.pruett@va.gov by 12/05/2025, 3:00PM EST. No further RFIs will be considered after this date/time. Install new chillers or upgrade existing units to achieve required tonnage. Ensure compliance with VA design standards and ASHRAE guidelines. Controls Upgrade Replace outdated control systems with Direct Digital Controls (DDC). Integrate with the Building Automation System (BAS) for centralized monitoring. Include programming, commissioning, and operator training. Mechanical & Electrical Work Modify piping, pumps, and valves as needed for new chiller configuration.
