The project aims to construct a microgrid system at the Lang Ranch Pump Station to ensure off-grid autonomous operation of the facility, utility energy arbitrage, and peak demand reduction. The work includes the design (civil/structural/electrical), procurement of all required microgrid equipment (including diesel generator, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), switchboard, meters, etc.), construction, and integration of the systems (data acquisition, electrical infrastructure, controls hardware and software, monitoring software, and SCADA). The project will provide resilient off-grid power during Public Safety Power Shutoff events, infrastructure failures, and emergency incidents. The selected contractor must perform the full design/build process, including installation of an electrical microgrid system with BESS, a fixed back-up diesel generator, and a microgrid controller at the Lang Ranch Pump Station to provide emergency backup power.
