Jefferson County Parks is soliciting bids for the installation of 8" Cedar Lap siding on all areas except the gables at Carnes East Log Cabin. The gables will have vertical 12" Cedar Board and Batten siding. The project includes: 1. Preparation and setup with protection of surrounding areas, removal of any necessary trim or obstructions, preparation for attachment of perlings, and maintenance of the building's historic integrity. 2. Installation of vertical perlings over existing log siding at 16" spacing, installing house wrap, taping seams, and ensuring long-term durability. 3. Installation of 8" cedar lap siding on all areas except the gables, with proper overlapping, alignment, and sealing, and fastening per manufacturer's recommendations. 4. Installation of 12" cedar board and batten siding in the gables, maintaining consistent layout, alignment, and spacing, and fastening per manufacturer's recommendations. 5. Installation of horizontal band board in the gables, ensuring level placement and clean finish transitions. 6. Reinstallation of existing doors and shutters, securing shutters, and replacing existing flashing above windows and doors. 7. Removal of all construction debris and waste materials, leaving the work area clean and ready for final inspection.
