Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hampton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; and military facility.
Project involves removing the existing Public Address (PA) System and installing a new system at the Hampton VA Medical System in accordance with the Statement of Work, specifications, and drawings, which require the use of brand-name components. Work includes providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete system removal and installation. The project is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and the prime contractor must self-perform at least 25 percent of the work directly related to installing the brand-name components. Award will be conducted under FAR Part 14 sealed bidding procedures. All bidders must be registered and current in SAM at the time of award. Pre-bid site visit, procedures for questions, bid submission requirements, bid bond requirements, and instructions to bidders apply as specified in the solicitation attachments. The Contractor shall be responsible for performing all required work associated with the public address system as defined in the Specifications and Drawings. The contractor shall provide all tools, labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and expertise required to perform general construction, alterations, electrical work, cabling, programming, and necessary removal, and disposal of existing items as indicated in the construction documents. The Contractor shall install new OSP fiber optic cable, conduits, boosters, Managed Ethernet Switches, VoIP Encoder/Decoders, dual input modules, TCP/IP to RS-232 interfaces, BC-1R battery cabinets, fiber breakout boxes, LC connectors, patch cords and all other components and/or items to complete the project as per the contract documents. The contractor shall manage and perform construction period services as further defined in the Contract to include, but not limited to, permitting, demolition, construction, construction management, submittals, equipment, scheduling, inspection, and testing, recording of (As-Built) drawings and project closeout. The contractor shall also develop a schedule demonstrating fulfillment of the contract requirements such as: Project Schedule, Contractor Quality Control, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Plan, and all other plans listed within the contract to include deliverables. The Contractor shall keep the Project Schedule up to date in accordance with the requirements of the contract and shall utilize the plan for scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring work under this contract (including all activities of subcontractors, equipment vendors and suppliers). Location: Hampton VA Medical Center, 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton, VA 23667. The Contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days and complete it within 240 calendar days.
