Des Moines Water Works (DMWW) is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consulting engineering firms for professional services related to the Fleur Drive Water Treatment Plant (FWTP) Carbon Dioxide Expansion Project. The selected consultant will complete an assessment and planning study focused on expanding carbon dioxide storage and optimizing the CO2 feed system used in lime softening treatment processes at FWTP. The project aims to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and long-term storage capacity. Key tasks include performing a condition assessment of the current CO2 storage and feed system, evaluating options for expanded storage capacity and feed system optimization, preparing general arrangement drawings and cost estimates for at least two alternatives, and documenting findings in a comprehensive report presented to DMWW staff. Submittals must include the Consultant Information Form, a letter of interest, resumes of key project personnel, a summary of recent relevant project experience, the project approach, schedule, staff hours, key issues, safety considerations, and communication strategies. Submittals are limited to 30 pages. Three hard copies and one electronic copy are required, and all materials must be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly labeled as instructed.
