Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Amherst, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a 105,750-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
The Town of Amherst invites qualified Independent Testing and Inspection Agencies to submit proposals for providing Building Envelope Air Tightness Testing and Inspection Services for the Amherst Fort River Elementary School Project. All proposals must be submitted in writing, signed by an authorized agent, and conform to M.G.L. Chapter 30B Section 6. Proposals should be placed in two separate sealed envelopes (one for the non-price technical proposal and one for the price proposal), both placed in an outer envelope clearly labeled with the project name and RFP number. The Town is constructing a new 105,750 GSF elementary school on the existing site and will accommodate 575 students. The existing building will remain operational during construction, and after the new building is completed, the old building will be demolished. The project is designed for net-zero operation and aims for LEED Gold certification. The building envelope air tightness testing and inspections must conform to the specifics outlined in the referenced construction documents and drawings. Bidders must review these documents to understand the full scope of work.
