The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Finance & Administration Cabinet, Division of Engineering & Contract Administration (DECA) is seeking professional design services for the CHFS DPH Central Lab Expansion for enhanced Commissioning consisting of Phase B document review, Phase C collaboration and document review, commissioning specifications for bidding documents, as well as functional testing of building envelope, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment. The project is currently in Phase B of design and the commissioning authority will be required to quickly assess and analyze the current design documents and assist the Commonwealth team with Owner Project Requirement documentation. The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Cabinet of Health and Family Services (CHFS) Department of Public Health has engaged in the development of the Central Laboratory expansion at 100 Sower Boulevard in Frankfort to support the Division of Laboratory Services. An addition of approximately 172,000 SF with a lower level and first floor connection to the existing lab will be constructed to support all DLS sections as well as Radiation Health spaces. The addition will have dedicated utilities to ensure separation from the existing building. Utilities include: water heating, laboratory RO system, sanitary neutralization, HVAC (hydronic and air), generators, building wide UPS, and fire protection. The envelope shall include curtain wall with metal panel rainscreen. Project design drawings and narrative provided for reference.
