Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The improvement includes the reconstruction of East Court Avenue with Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) curb and gutter, PCC bike lanes, PCC sidewalk and driveways, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) paving, modified subbase, removals, storm sewer, subdrain, grading, water main construction, erosion control and restoration, and other incidental items, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 677-172/323, located along East Court Avenue from East 7th Street to east of East 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Sealed bids must be filed at the designated location before the specified deadline. Each bidder must provide bid security as defined by Iowa Code. Contract documents will be available at the City Engineer's Office at no cost. Preference will be given to Iowa products and labor where required by law. Sales tax should not be included in bids; a sales tax exemption certificate will be issued for project materials. The project completion date and other related conditions are outlined in the contract documents. The City's Overall Annual DBE/TSB Goal for this project is 5.72%, which represents a target that the City would like to achieve in including DBE/TSB participation on City contracts; and is not a mandatory goal for this project
