The City of Altoona is requesting bids for the construction of Water System Improvements 2024, Jordan Well No. 5. The Work includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials required for the construction of a new 2,100 GPM well in the Jordan aquifer (Well No. 5), all required development and testing of the well, site work such as clearing and grubbing of trees, installation and maintenance of pollution prevention controls, finished grading, and all other work shown in the drawing and called for in the specifications. The work is to be performed at 500 Falcon Drive SE, Altoona, IA 50009. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and as specified in the Bidding Documents, as security that if awarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in liquidated damages. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
