Renovation of a mixed-use development in Methuen, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The City of Methuen is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the Removal of carpets and cove base, installation of VCT tile and cove base at the Timony Grammar School. Removal of 25 rooms of carpets and cove base and install of new VCT tile and cove base, and one room carpet removal and carpet squares (Commercial grade) installed and cove base. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. **All bids must be made out in Duplicate, either typed or printed in ink. Work completed deadline Estimated Friday, April 24, 2026 Question Deadline 12/01/2025 at 12:00 PM ET All questions concerning the IFB must be submitted by email to Purchasing@methuen.gov. Removal of carpet and cove base and install new VCT tile and cove base for 24 rooms measuring approximately 624 square feet each. One room (LS music room) removal of carpet and cove base and install Carpet squares (Commercial Grade). VCT Tile installation and cove base installation for 22 rooms measuring approximately 624 square feet each. The contractor is responsible for prepping all floors. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment/tools, staging, hoisting, trucking, and supervision that he/she deems necessary to complete, in a thoroughly professional and expeditious manner, all the work described hereafter with these specifications. All work shall be according to code and approved by the proper authority. The contractor will obtain the necessary permits and complete all required inspections. Methuen Public Schools will provide access to water and electricity. All material and debris shall be cleaned up immediately and removed from the building/grounds offsite by the contractor to a legal dumping area, leaving the premises in a clean condition. The contractor shall conform to all requirements of state and local laws, including prevailing wage laws. The contractor will be responsible for the repair of all damage to the building due to the negligence of its workers. During the contract period, the vendor will abide by all fire and safety regulations. City/School Security Policies must be observed at all times. Smoking in public educational facilities is prohibited at any time. The vendor will be responsible for the prompt correction of all defects. The contractor must assume total responsibility for the actions of any/all subcontractors. Purchases made by City of Methuen/Schools are exempt from state sales and federal excise taxes and material prices must not include such taxes. Tax exemption certificates will be furnished upon request. City of Methuen reserves the right to directly purchase material to be installed and/or used by the successful contractor. Vendors must use prevailing wage. A 5% bid bond is required, made payable to City of Methuen. Must be OSHA certified. Must provide a certificate of Liability Insurance. Must be DCAMM certified if bid price is over $150,000. City of Methuen reserves the right to cancel the contract on fifteen (15) days' notice and to award the contract to the next responsible and responsive bidder offering the lowest price on evidence of the contract's failure to perform in accordance with these specifications. All workmanship, whether specifically designated, shown or implied, shall be first quality, new and of grade satisfactory to the City or its representative. City of Methuen shall have the right to reject any part of the work if the material or workmanship is not satisfactory quality. 3. Contractor is responsible for keeping classroom areas clean and sectioned off during project construction, as well as cleaning floor area post installation.
