Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Richmond, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade retail development; and one-story above grade transportation facility.
The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC), in partnership with the City of Richmond’s Economic Development Authority (EDA), seeks to partner with an experienced development team for the development of the GRTC Downtown Transfer Hub and Mixed-Use Development. The project involves the design and delivery of a modern transit center and mixed-use development. The scope includes a new GRTC Downtown Transfer Hub facility with a 10-bay bus terminal, rider and operator support spaces, and a privately-led mixed-use overbuild featuring ground-level retail, a public parking podium, and residential and/or commercial uses above. The project site covers most of an approximately 3-acre parcel in Downtown Richmond at the location of the former City Department of Public Safety building.
