The Commonwealth of Kentucky through the Finance & Administration Cabinet, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration is seeking professional design services for the abatement, demolition and preparatory redevelopment of multiple buildings and campus infrastructure located at the Kentucky State Reformatory in LaGrange, KY. The Kentucky State Reformatory is located on a 43-acre campus in LaGrange, Kentucky. The campus includes a twelve-story Administration Building, two Dormitories, an Academic/Vocational School, Gymnasium, Chapel, Dining Facility, Inmate Canteen, Correctional Industries, Visitation Building and Medical Services Buildings as well as a comprehensive utility infrastructure. Not all buildings will be removed; determination to be made during design. Structures to remain must be protected and maintained throughout construction activities. Demolition of existing utilities must not interfere with continued service to adjacent properties and facilities. Future redevelopment of the site will be a key consideration of all demolition and remediation activities. The design team must include economic development criteria in the design and execution of the campus demolition plan. During the design phase, the project team will evaluate multiple delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Construction Manager–General Contractor (CMGC), and Design-Build.
