Remodeling of a municipal facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 3,200-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility.

The proposed public improvement consists of work at the Linn County Courthouse located at 51 3rd Avenue Bridge SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, including the removal of existing acoustical ceilings, lighting, ductwork, mechanical equipment, and floor finishes in approximately 3,200 square feet on the east side of the 2nd floor; installation of three new mechanical units and associated ductwork, new 2x2 acoustical ceilings, LED lighting, carpet, and paint; and construction of two offices, a conference room, and a breakroom in an existing open office area on the west side of the second floor. Work shall commence upon issuance of the Notice of Award and must be substantially completed on or before the specified completion date. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in a separate sealed envelope totaling five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bids shall be made as lump sum bids for the entire work. The successful bidder will be required to provide a performance bond and payment bond, each for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bidders must also provide a good faith list of all known or potential subcontractors who will or may work on the project. Bids must not include sales tax, and preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa. All addenda must be acknowledged. Contractors may examine or obtain construction documents at specified locations and must submit all bids using the official proposal form. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for a bid to be considered. Linn County intends to award the contact to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, but reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive minor informalities.
