Renovation of an educational facility in Ashland, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.
Sealed proposals from Trade Contractors are requested for the Southern Boone County R-1 School District High School HVAC Replacements project. Proposals must align with the work package description and be submitted to the Superintendent's office, Southern Boone County R-1 School District, Ashland, Missouri. Bids must be made out on the forms included in the specifications and accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. The successful bidder is required to provide a Performance Bond and a Material and Labor Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the State of Missouri, Division of Labor, in effect as of the date of the specifications, apply. The School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or technicality in the bids. Southern Boone County R-1 School District High School HVAC Replacements project consists of removal and replacement of existing ceilings, HVAC piping, HVAC equipment, and related work at the High School building for Southern Boone County R-1 School District. Hereafter, Southern Boone County R-1 School District will be referred to as the Owner. The scope of work for Work Package '23B' will contain Alternate Pricing and shall include but not limited to: 1. Provide materials, labor, and equipment to install complete HVAC system, electrical system with new lighting, emergency exit lights, ceiling grid, and ceiling tile as drawn and specified. 2. Provide all demolition of HVAC related times as required, light fixtures, electrical items, ceiling grid, and ceiling tile as drawn and specified for the renovation areas. 3. Provide labor, equipment, and trash hauling expenses for disposal of all materials and equipment per all Federal, State, and Local Government rules and regulations. 4. Provide all temporary support wiring of existing devices mounted to ceilings that are to remain (speakers/electric heat panels/clocks/security cameras/fire sprinkler heads/fire alarm sensors/occupancy sensors/etc). Re-install removed, or provide new fire sprinkler head escutcheons or concealed sprinkler head escutcheons. 5. Provide complete HVAC systems including: heating/cooling units; boilers, cooling tower, CO 2 sensors, thermostats and thermostats control system, all piping, pipe insulation, test and balance reports, control boxes; exhaust fans; exhaust hoods; gas vents; grilles and diffusers; supply, exhaust and return ductwork and accessories; duct liner, fireproofing materials and installation, control wiring, refrigerant piping, condensate pumps, condensate piping, HVAC controls and demolition of existing HVAC as shown. 6. Provide roof protection around the cooling tower and associated work while on the roof. This roof was installed in September of 2025 by Weathercraft, Inc. and is under full warranty. 7. Provide all caulking and sealing for watertight construction, fire stopping, and smoke sealing of all roof and wall penetrations associated work in this package. Provide fire caulking at all penetrations through all fire rated partitions as related to this work package. 8. Provide and install externally vented exhaust hood and all necessary hardware and fasteners as required for installation. 9. Provide third-party test and balance report as specified. 10. Provide structural engineering and structural modifications if cooling tower used is anything other than the basis of design shown on the plans. 11. Cleanup of debris from your construction operations for all Acoustical Ceiling removal & replacement, all HVAC/Mechanical work, and all Electrical work. Contractor will provide laborer to keep the project clean. 23B contractor will provide dumpster and dumpster services for all work as drawn and specified. 12. Include Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and required Insurance. 13. The School District will provide temporary dehumidification equipment as needed. 14. Under no circumstances shall workers nor materials be allowed inside the gymnasium. The gymnasium will be used by the School District during summer break. 15. The School District will provide temporary restrooms and/or will allow specific existing restroom facilities inside the building to be used by the workers. 16. Work Package "23B" bidders shall include a $15,000.00 allowance in their bid for unforeseen Mechanical, HVAC, and Electrical items to be used at the discretion of the project manager. 17. All equipment and materials must be in the contractor's possession on or before May 19th , 2026. If any component/equipment for the HVAC project cannot be verified by the Design Team and/or Construction Manager, then NO WORK WILL TAKE PLACE for the Summer of 2026. ALL scheduled work would take place the Summer of 2027. The contractor will NOT be compensated for any additional expenses that are incurred, for example, increase in material and equipment cost, nor cost to store the materials and equipment, nor compensated for increase in labor cost. 18. The timeline for this entire project: Start - May 26th, 2026 and Fully completed by August 7th , 2026.
