Site work for a transportation facility in Wills Point, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade transportation facility.
Construction of concrete partial parallel Taxiway Alpha 6 inches thick, 1150 feet long, and 25 feet wide on the southeast side of runway 35/17, with 50 feet of base and asphalt to connect the existing apron to the runway 35 end. Centerline runway to taxiway centerline is 240 feet. Includes removal and on-site stockpiling of topsoil, import and installation of approximately 2,240 cubic yards of select fill to achieve subgrade elevation, installation of a 6-inch concrete roadway with #4 rebar at 16-inch centers each way, establishment of positive drainage through elevation control with a ½ inch cross slope from edge of taxiway to centerline, installation of expansion joints at 90-foot intervals and sawcut joints at 15-foot intervals, sealing of all expansion and sawcut joints, backfilling of roadway edges with on-site material 1½ inches below pavement, and furnishing and installation of three (3) 12-inch diameter culverts. Contractor requirements: Provide proof of liability insurance coverage, have experience in similar airport construction projects, and provide references from at least three previous clients. The project must be completed within 120 days from the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $100.00 per day for each day the project exceeds the completion deadline unless weather delays or other considerations as approved by the Wills Point Economic Development Board.
