As of January 02, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The work generally includes clearing, grubbing, excavation, embankment, seeding and mulching a proposed storm water detention basin and constructing an outlet structure. Bidders must use the printed forms of proposal available as specified. Each bid must include the full names of interested parties and, for corporations not chartered in Ohio, a certificate of authorization to do business in Ohio. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of either a certified or cashier's check drawn on a solvent Ohio bank with consent of surety for 10% of the total bid, made payable to the City of Middleburg Heights, or a bond equal to 100% of the total bid drawn in favor of the City, as prescribed in O.R.C. 153.54, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and, if not, the check or bond will be forfeited as liquidated damages. Contractors are required to pay prevailing wages according to Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code and must make necessary adjustments for any wage increases during the contract term. The council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept any bid deemed most favorable. Sealed bid envelopes must be marked with the project name. Engineer's Estimate: $2,500,000.00.
