Sealed proposals are requested for Campus Access Control Upgrades at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the University in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, and not exceeding $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required at contract signing. Bid Documents can be examined at Consulting Construction Engineering in Birmingham and at relevant plan rooms. Documents can be obtained from the Architect (Engineer) with a $200 deposit per set, with refunds for the first two sets for each bona fide general contract bidder who submits a bid and returns them within ten days. Bids must be submitted using forms furnished by the Architect (Engineer). Bidders exceeding the State Licensing Board's established amounts must be licensed under Alabama law, clearly display their license on the sealed proposal envelope, and comply with state sales and use tax exemptions for incorporated materials. Enrollment in the E-Verify program is required for all contractors and subcontractors. Nonresident bidders must include a legal opinion regarding contract preferences in their state of domicile. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if it benefits the Owner's interests. As described in the Bid Documents, project consists of upgrades to the existing access control system that is compatible with the existing infrastructure currently in place.
