As of April 1, 2026, a construction manager has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, bid advertising is not expected to start prior to late August of 2026 and the notice to proceed is not expected to start prior to late December of 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The State University Construction Fund is seeking statements of qualifications from firms to provide Construction Manager (CM) Agency Construction Phase Services for the Rehab Natural Science Building Phase 2 Addition project at the State University of New York, Old Westbury. The project consists of an addition to and subsequent renovation of the Natural Sciences Building, originally constructed in 1985 with 63,307 GSF. The addition involves a new 2-story structure of 17,000 GSF on the west side of the existing building. The program includes new teaching labs for Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Organismic Biology, along with related support spaces, building support, collaboration workspace, and circulation. The mechanical cooling and heating for the addition includes a new dedicated geothermal well field and associated site improvements. Submissions must emphasize the firm's experience in providing construction phase CM services for public institutions and institutional clients in an expeditious manner. The construction duration from Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion is approximately twenty-seven months (twenty-four months for construction and three months for closeout).
