Description

Site work and paving for a road / highway in Barre, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway.

The Highway Division, Operations and Safety Bureau, of the Vermont Agency of Transportation is seeking applications for the 2026 small scale local Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant program to improve safety on local roadways. Applicant projects should be ready to go to construction in 2026, but if there are extenuating circumstances such as waiting on a paving project before installing safety features like rumble strips, construction in 2027 is also acceptable. Instructions to bidders include downloading the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and application from the Contract Administration's website. There will also be an optional web-based training session through Microsoft Teams to review the grant application requirements and the project development process. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend or view this training session.
