Site work for a water / sewer project in Kernersville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Bidders must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. This project is for a waterline extension on Fairview Street in Kernersville, NC. The project includes the installation of approximately 506 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron water line, as well as 280 linear feet of vitrified clay 8-inch sewer line. Work includes all tie-ins, pavement repair, erosion control and traffic control. The target start date is early to mid March 2026. The M/WBE subcontracting goals for this project are 6% MBE and 4% WBE and must be met separately. The purpose of this meeting is to summarize the scope of work involved and to explain the City's Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) goals and program related to this project. Staff will be present to answer questions. While this meeting is not mandatory to bid, we encourage attendance as it counts towards your Good Faith Effort for the M/WBE requirements. Technical questions concerning this bid should be submitted electronically to Catherine Knisley at catherinek@cityofws.org. End of Question period is 5:00 PM, December 9, 2025. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in the bidding procedures and to reject any or all proposals. Interested bidders are required to reach out directly to the Owner to obtain a set of the bidding documents.
