The City of San Diego (City) Storm water Department (SWD) currently has a need for habitat restoration landscaping services on an as-needed basis to enhance and rehabilitate wetland and riparian habitats. SWD has identified compensatory wetland mitigation sites (Sites) where wetland mitigation projects (Projects) will be implemented. These Projects serve as compensatory mitigation for impacts to sensitive habitats including wetlands, riparian corridors, and uplands. The maintenance of healthy native habitats often requires the selective removal of non-native vegetation, planting and seeding in portions of the habitat to supplement existing native plant recruitment and temporary irrigation while plants are establishing. During Project implementation, the Contractor will remove targeted non-native species at the Sites, install native plants to supplement existing native plant cover and install temporary irrigation. The Contractor will also implement the 120-Calendar Day Plant Establishment Period (PEP) that consists of watering, weed eradication, and maintenance of newly installed plants.
