Renovation of a medical facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
In general, the work consists of: This project repairs the building envelope of the central heating plant. The existing roof will be replaced including roof insulation, membrane, and flashing. Any structural damage to the roof deck will be repaired. Damage to exterior masonry walls will be tuck pointed or repaired as necessary. The existing windows and frames will be replaced with more durable and energy efficient windows. The existing chimney stack located in the middle of the heating plant is no longer required and will be demolished and the opening left in the roof will be repaired. The application of the 5% permissive bidding preference pursuant to Wis. Stat. 16.855(10m)am)3. for certified minority businesses is currently paused. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Base Bid will be received for: A single lump sum bid for All Work. This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. No later than 5 days after DFD identifies the successful MEP bids, DFD will publicly open general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. If a project does not include any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection divisions of work, DFD will bid one bid package for all work to general prime contractors. Bid Opening Notes:Bid opening will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. Bidders may call the Microsoft Teams teleconference number: (608) 571-2209, conference ID: 484 588 360#, on the day of the bid to hear the bid results announced on the day bids are due.
