Through this call for tenders, the City is requesting bids for professional services to conduct a Phase I and II hydrogeological investigation study, including all field work. In accordance with section 16 of the REIMR and the concerns expressed by the Ministry of the Environment in the environmental impact study related to the expansion project of the City of Sept-Iles' technical landfill site (document QC-10, attached as an appendix), drilling and pumping tests are required to assess the aquifer's potential. For the purposes of the REIMR, an aquifer is considered to have high potential when it can continuously supply a minimum flow rate of 25 m3/h from a single intake well. The mandate must be completed, i.e. have received provisional acceptance from the City, by 31 March 2026 at the latest. The sites in question are located at the Waste Management Centre (CGMR) at 750 Chemin du Lac-Daigle in Sept-Iles. More specifically, they are located in a forest area adjacent to the CGMR and correspond to the area designated for the expansion of the engineered landfill site (LET).
