Disclaimer: IN ORDER FOR YOUR BID TO BE CONSIDERED A LEGAL BONAFIDE BIDDER ON THE PROJECT, DOCUMENTS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM REMINGTON, VERNICK ENGINEERS DIRECTLY The proposed work shall include the replacement of lead/galvanized water services throughout the Borough of Longport. The replacement of water services consists of both the system side service line and the property owner side service line and shall terminate inside the house/dwelling unit. It is the intent of the project to replace the number of services indicated on the bid form. Prior to replacement of any suspected lead/galvanized service lines, the service line material shall be verified. If suspected service lines included in the Scope of Work are found to be non-lead/galvanized, supplemental locations will be provided to the contractor for investigation and replacement. N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17(a)24, 4.17(a)24, 6.17(a)24 and 7:22A-2.4(a) provide that a goal of not less than 10 percent be established for the award of contracts to small business concerns owned and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The goal of 10 percent applies to the total amount of all contracts for building, materials and equipment, or services (including planning, design and building related activities) for a construction project. The Borough of Longport reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Borough of Longport , in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to Monica Kyle, Borough Clerk, Borough of Longport, 2305 Atlantic Avenue, Longport, New Jersey 08403 . Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Borough of Longport in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. Awards will be made only to socially and economically disadvantaged business concerns that are certified by the New Jersey Commerce, Economic Growth and Tourism Commission, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New Jersey Transit or other agencies deemed appropriate by the Office as eligible minority businesses or female businesses. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. The project sponsor has identified that the SED utilization goal for this project is ten percent (10%). The successful bidder must fufill the SED utilization requirements by subcontracting portions of the work to SEDs or by establishing unrestricted bidding procedures to fulfill the 10 percent SED utilization requirement.
