Sealed bids are requested for the roof replacement at the Richard Butler School, 3 Pearl Place, Butler, New Jersey, together with all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the requirements of the drawings and specifications prepared by Gianforcaro Architects, Engineers & Planners. Bid packages will be received for a single overall contract covering the work and all incidental requirements. Bidders must submit bids on designated proposal forms, in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the proposal identification number. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for not less than ten percent of the bid amount, up to a maximum of twenty thousand dollars. Bidders are required to include a Certificate of Consent of Surety from a Surety Company confirming that they will provide performance/payment bonds in the full amount of the contract for the bidder and all subcontractors if successful. If not providing surety for subcontractors, the subcontractor must provide their own surety and proof at the time of bid submission. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening date. Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive informality. All applicable federal, state, and municipal laws, ordinances, and regulations apply. Bidders and their subcontractors must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and provide proof of such registration and compliance. Proof of registration with the State of New Jersey, Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue must be included for both the bidder and their named subcontractors. All bidding shall conform to New Jersey statutes and regulations for public school construction and public works. Bidders for the work shall visit the premises and carefully examine all existing conditions before submitting bids. B. All Bidders shall also familiarize themselves with the means of entrance and exit at the property and all other information necessary to properly carry out the work.
