Site work for a water / sewer project in Huntington Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project will provide wet well access improvements and valve replacement at Slater Avenue Pump Station. Wet well access improvements include replacing two existing 48-inch circular wet well manhole covers with new rectangular hatches and replacing corroded existing slide gate guides with new stainless steel guides. The valve replacement will replace five existing 16-inch pump check valves and three existing 6-inch wet well drain valves. The work will require implementation of traffic control and temporary sewer bypass of the pump station. Other work includes concrete demolition, partial regrading of the pump station driveway, and PVC liner repair. Attendees are required to wear long pants, long or short sleeved shirts (no tank tops), and all the listed personal protective equipment that meets the following criteria: o Safety Footwear with Impact Resistant Protective Cap (steel or composite) meeting ASTM F2413. o Safety Glasses must meet ANSI Z87, o Hard Hats must meet ANSI Z89.1, and o Safety Vest ANSI/SEA 107-2004 Class 2 Minimum. Job Walk participants who do not have the appropriate personal protective equipment will not be allowed to participate in the job walk due to safety concerns. Upon arrival at OC SAN's Slater Pump Station, all visitors (including Job Walk attendees) must show a government-issued photo identification and sign-in. Depending upon the number of visitors, waits of 30 minutes may be expected with the sign-in process. Therefore, attendees should plan their arrival accordingly. Advance registration by electronic mail (email) at construction@ocsan.gov is recommended to help reduce the wait time at the security gate. Please include the following title on the subject line of the email: "PROJECT NO. FRC-0017, Visitor Registration". In the body of the message, include the company name and, for each attendee, the first and last name, phone number, and email address. License Requirements "A" and "C-31" "C-33" A. The work consists of the following improvements at the Slater Pump Station: 1. Mobilize and setup temporary traffic control plan 2. Perform Wet Well improvements as follows: a. Setup and operate full station bypass system. b. Remove existing copolymer slide gates and demolish slide gate rails in east and west wet well chambers and replace with new 316L stainless steel slide gate rails and 48-inch x 66-inch FRP sluice gates. Repair wet well liner damaged during construction activities. c. Demolish the two (2) existing 48-inch diameter circular concrete manholes. Modify openings to accommodate two (2) new 48-inch x 54-inch double leaf hatches rated for H-20 fo 25 mile per hour loads and fall protection grating. 3. Perform valve replacement improvements as follows: a. Setup and operate partial station bypass system. Obtain encroachment permit for temporary forcemain isolation at the discharge manhole west of Slater Avenue and Gothard Street. Coordinate for OC San stop log installation and removal operations. b. Setup temporary rigging and remove the five (5) existing 16-inch check valves in the dry well and replace with five (5) new 16-inch swing check valves. c. Remove the three (3) existing 6-inch wet well return plug valves and replace with three (3) new 6-inch wet well return plug valves. d. Test, startup, and commission work. 4. Demobilize and coordinate return of pump station to normal operation. The intent of IFB Documents, Contract Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Special Provisions, Plans, and the Specifications as they apply to the Project is to prescribe and provide for the complete and finished performance and accomplishment, in every respect, of the entire contemplated Work indicated in the Contract Documents, relating directly to the Project. It shall be understood that the CONTRACTOR undertaking the execution of all or any part of such Work shall be required to perform in a craftsman-like manner and in strict compliance with Contract Documents, and to furnish and provide in connection therewith all transportation, labor, tools implements, equipment, materials, supplies, services and other items which are necessary or appurtenant to construct and complete the entire Project, including but not limited to all applicable codes, permits, ordinances, regulations, and laws. A. This section includes the requirements for the delivery, handling, storage and protection for all items required in the construction of the Work. In addition, further specific requirements, if any, are included in the section of each related product. B. Shipping, storage and handling of materials and equipment shall be in accordance with this section, the General Conditions, and the General Requirements (section entitled "Shipping, Storage and Handling of Materials and Equipment" and other related sections under the heading "Control of Materials"). C. Due to space constraints at the project site, the CONTRACTOR may be required to utilize an off-site facility (warehouse) for receiving and storage of equipment and materials. The cost of these off-site facilities shall be included in the CONTRACTOR's Bid price.
