The City of Chico is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms for the purpose of selecting one (1) consultant to provide on-call landscape design and inspection services for a range of capital improvement projects. This is a one-step Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Question Deadline 01/09/2026 at 4:00 PM PT All inquiries regarding this RFQ must be submitted through online. Responses will be posted in online. The total contract amount for this on-call agreement will not exceed $250,000. There is no guarantee, expressed or implied, that this dollar amount will be authorized under the agreement through Task Orders. The initial contract term is three years, with the option for the City to extend it for up to two additional one-year periods. Services may include landscape and irrigation design, plan review, construction observation, plant establishment monitoring, and other related landscape architectural services. Task Orders may be funded with local funds or with federal funds if applicable to specific projects. The City reserves the right to make an award without further discussion of the submittal with the proposer. Therefore, the SOQ should be submitted initially on the most favorable terms that the firm or individual might propose. The City reserves the right to award a contract to the firm that presents the best qualifications and whose SOQ best accomplishes the desired results. The City reserves the right to reject any or all SOQs, or to waive minor irregularities in said SOQs, or to negotiate minor deviations with the successful firm. In the case of differences between written words and figures in a SOQ, the amount stated in written words will govern. In the case of a difference in unit price versus the extended figure, the unit price will govern. The City will notify all proposers whether or not they are selected for the subject work. The selected consultant should note that individual projects may still be contracted out through a separate request for qualifications process if deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
