Site work for a development in Siesta Key, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade development.

The County is requesting professional engineering services to provide all necessary coastal engineering for the management and maintenance of the County's managed South Siesta Key Beach Restoration. Refer to the Solicitation Documents and Attachments section for minimum qualifications, scope/specifications, and insurance requirements. The Project will include replacing approximately 207,600 cubic yards of net storm damage sand loss since the last full restoration project at South Siesta Key Beach. Final volume is dependent on final Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approvals. The repair will be funded largely by state and federal grants, with local funds making up the difference. The proposed repair will utilize beach-compatible sand from an approved source, in accordance with the FEMA approved grant Scope of Work. The Consultant will provide design, permitting, and construction phase services required for this work. The Consultant will assist the County with grant acquisition and management and will also support public outreach. The Consultant will create and execute a post-construction monitoring and maintenance plan. In accordance with the FEMA-approved grant scope, the Consultant should expect an accelerated schedule to be applied to this Project. If feasible, construction may occur as soon as November 1, 2026. ii. The Project includes the next maintenance event for the South Siesta Key Beach Restoration Project area, to restore the full template as described in Attachment B - Permits. The Consultant shall provide the design, permitting, and construction phase services required for this maintenance event. The work may occur separately or concurrently with the storm damage repair described above, based on Project area conditions and feasibility. The Consultant shall assist the County with grant acquisition and management and shall also support public outreach. The Consultant shall create and execute a post-construction monitoring and an on-going maintenance plan for the Project area. iii. The Project includes ensuring that the work done within the South Siesta Key Beach Restoration Project area furthers the County's goal to keep Midnight Pass open. B. All services, activities, products, and deliverables will be of a quality acceptable for use in permitting with local, state, and federal agencies having jurisdiction over the Project Question Deadline date added as per Addendum 2 12/17/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Second Evaluation Meeting has been rescheduled for February 20, 2025.
