The City of Kelowna invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the construction of the Burtch Road Extension from K.L.O. Road to Denver Road. This project includes an upgrade to portions of existing Burtch Road, including a roundabout and signalized and unsignalized intersections, as well as new construction for a portion of the project between the existing Burtch Road dead end north of the K.L.O. intersection and the existing Burtch Road dead end south of Stillingfleet Road. Work includes paving, curbs, sidewalks, boulevard landscaping, irrigation, parking lanes, retaining walls, watermain upgrades, drainage system installations, sanitary sewer upgrades, traffic signals, street lighting, pavement markings, and signage. The project includes an upgrade to portions of existing Burtch Road, including roundabout and signalized and unsignalized intersections, as well as construction of large diameter deep sanitary sewer trunk main. Approximate quantities of key items are: 5,100 tonnes of paving; 26,000 m2 of base gravel; 17,330 m2 of sub base gravel; 6,400 m of curb; 3,850 m2 of sidewalk; 52 Streetlights; Landscaping (259 trees, ground cover, sod and irrigation); 3 Pedestrian and 1 Intersection signals; 272 m of watermain; 305 m of storm sewers; 11 manholes; 48 catchbasins; 587 m 1200 mm ø PVC sanitary sewer; 8 - 1800 mm ø sanitary lined manholes; 1 sanitary sewer splitter vault.
