Description of Work: Project is to abandon approximately 11,600 linear feet (LF) of existing 6- to 12-inch water line in commercial and residential areas, and to replace with 8- and 12-inch water line. Scope includes open cut and trenchless installation and incorporating associated components such as gate valves, water meters, and fire hydrants. All other information relating to this project is contained within the attached Contract Documents. Time for project completion is 365 calendar days. Additional Description: Wage Rates: Yes Bids shall also be made in accordance with the prevailing hourly rate of wages for this locality and project as determined by the Commission of Labor and filed with the Secretary of State in accordance with the provisions of 40 O.S. 1971, 197.1-17, which prevailing hourly rate of wages is made a part of this notice by reference as though fully set forth herein. Bids received more than ninety-six (96) hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, before the time set for opening of bids, as well as received after the time set for opening of bids, will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Within one hundred twenty (120) days from the bid opening date, the successful bidder shall execute a written contract embodying all provisions of the bidding documents. The DBE goals are not a quota In addition, it is suggested that Bidders attend a site visit to tour the Lawton work site immediately after the pre-bid conference. All work shall be done to the satisfaction of the Project Engineer/Project Manager. He shall decide all questions which arise as to quality and acceptability of materials furnished and work performed, rate of progress of the work, interpretation of the plans and specifications, acceptable fulfillment of the contract, compensation, mutual rights between Contractors under these specifications and the suspension of work. He shall determine the amount and quality of the work performed and materials furnished, and his decisions and estimates shall be final. His estimates, in such event, shall be condition precedent to the right of the Contractor to receive money due under the contract. This item shall include the construction, painting, erection, maintenance and removal of project signs for the number of signs indicated in the construction documents at the locations specified therein. Upon completion of the project, the signs shall become the property of the Contractor. 5.2 The sign shall be constructed from 3/4 inch exterior grade plywood with one smooth side. Paint for the sign shall be a commercial grade exterior paint that will not show signs of fading during the complete construction period. If the sign fades before completion of the project, the Contractor shall repaint the sign to its original quality. Painting of the sign shall be of professional quality equivalent to commercial sign painting. Mounting posts shall be either redwood or pressure treated pine.
