Site work for an industrial development in Stanton, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade industrial development.
The project involves the remediation of TENORM (Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) media in three wooden above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), including the sludges and soils, as well as the removal of four ASTs associated with a former crude oil storage tank battery from historical oil recovery operations. The media has been contaminated due to the separation of crude oil and groundwater, which contained elevated levels of NORM that were enhanced during crude oil recovery processes. Previous investigations confirmed contamination with TENORM in both sludge within the wooden ASTs and soils in and around the tanks. RFB-118-26 FP Project requirements include solidifying sludge in three wooden ASTs with Portland cement, demolishing the wooden ASTs, and excavating and removing impacted soils for off-site disposal. Soil excavations are anticipated to reach approximately one foot in depth. Residual water and crude oil in the four steel ASTs must be removed and disposed of; the ASTs then cleaned, hauled from the site, and recycled. After excavation, the topsoil must be backfilled, the ground surface restored to its original grade, and the areas vegetated. Interested contractors are encouraged to attend a site visit. All procurement questions are to be directed to the buyer of record. Plans and specifications must be downloaded from the designated state plan room website, and only those who access documents through this source will be registered for addenda. There is no charge unless a hard copy is requested, in which case the contractor pays for the copy. Contractors must combine the entire official bid document and any required bid bond into one PDF attachment for submission. ALL PROCUREMENT QUESTIONS SHALL BE DIRECTED TO BUYER OF RECORD FOR THIS PROJECT. Question Deadline 01/09/2026 All questions regarding the meaning or interpretation of the bidding documents shall be directed in writing to the purchasing officer. Unless otherwise specified in the Solicitation, questions received less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the date for receipt of bids may not be answered
