Renovation of a municipal facility in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade municipal facility.

As of January 27, 2026, project is awarded to MD Electric with base bid amount of $189,300  + Alt. #1 $16,000 + Alt. #2 $7,100. Furnish and install electrical switch gear at the Buchanan County Courthouse. Question Deadline 01/09/2026 at 10:00 AM CT All questions shall be submitted in writing to the email Kim Hartman khartman@co.buchanan.mo.us Scope It is the intent of these specifications to describe Switch Gear in sufficient detail to secure proposals on comparable equipment. All parts not specifically mentioned which are necessary to provide complete and operational Switch Gear shall be included in the proposal and shall conform in strength and quality of material and workmanship to what is generally provided to the industry. All equipment shall be a current model in standard production by the manufacturer. General Requirements Equipment shall be new and unused Equipment to be provided, installed and operational; all work to be done at the Buchanan County Courthouse, 411 Jules Street, St. Joseph, MO All equipment and parts needed to complete this project shall be on hand prior to commencement of any work being done in building that will interrupt current electrical service Safety instructions and training to be provided at time of installation All work to be coordinated with the Courthouse Maintenance Supervisor All required city permits and inspections; city should issue at no charge It is anticipated that all on-site work will take place from 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11,2026. Friday, May 8,2026, is a holiday and the Courthouse will be closed. Contractor will have access to the building during this entire time; please include all necessary overtime/double time needed to complete the project during this timeframe. Any charges or fees from Evergy shall be included in contractors' proposal response Demolition of Existing Service Coordinate with Evergy to de-energize the utility transformer that feeds into the existing 2000-amp switch gear on Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2026 Demo existing 4-section, 2000-amp, 600-volt switch gear in the basement of the Courthouse Existing feeder and branch wiring will have to be pulled back to the closest junction point and saved for later use Existing feeder and branle circuit conduits will have to be de-terminated from the switch gear and stopped at the closest junction point Exiting conduit to be saved and kept undamaged for re-installation after the new switch gear has been set Existing switch gear to be hauled off, by the contractor, to a single location; this becomes property of the contractor New Service & Equipment Furnish and install a new 4-section, 2000-amp, 600-volt switch gear in the same location as the old switch gear; new equipment shall be breaker style switch gear with circuit breakers; shall include all necessary testing, design, equipment and parts Receive and handle the new switch gear at the site of installation. Equipment and tooling are to be included in price Install the new switch gear on the existing housekeeping pad and utility conduits Re-install all feeder wiring and conduit and terminate the new switch gear. Include new all new wiring. Wiring to the utility transformer shall be new and properly pulled to needed location. After installation and termination of switch gear, all affected areas will be checked and tested for proper electrical functionality All debris shall be removed from the Courthouse All equipment and materials provided shall meet or exceed current industry standards and city code All work to be completed so that building is ready for operation at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11,2026 Freight, delivery, truck, fuel surcharges and equipment necessary to deliver new switch gear and all necessary components; and removal of existing switch gear shall be included All testing and start-up costs shall be included; testing to be done per Federal, State, and local guidelines; include pertinent guidelines with proposal response Training of county personnel on operation and minor troubleshooting shall be included Any and all materials or equipment required for proper installation and operation of this system not specifically listed in these specifications, shall be included in the proposal pricing submitted by the contractor; freight/truck/fuel/disposal charges must be included; these will not be paid separately; no add-ons or exclusions will be considered *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
